Why "Top 8+"

   Several people in the few days since we've started our business have already been asking me, "Why 'Top 8+'?" or "What does 'Top 8+' mean?"

   Well, I'll tell you. 

   First of all, my aunt, who also has several food sensitivities came up with the name.  So, thank you, Auntie Mine!

   Secondly, the name "Top 8+" refers to the top 8 most common food allergies.

   The Mayo Clinic lists them as:

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Peanuts
  • Tree nuts (such as almonds, cashews, walnuts)
  • Fish (such as bass, cod, flounder)
  • Shellfish (such as crab, lobster, shrimp)
  • Soy
  • Wheat


   We are "Top 8+" because we are willing and able to work with anyone who is allergic or sensitive or intolerant to any one of these top 8 allergens or any combination thereof.  However, we don't work with just these 8.  We are willing to work with you to find, prep, and cook as many substitutions as we can find out there for whatever food you are allergic, sensitive, or intolerant to. 

   Not supposed to eat rice? No problem! It isn't one of the top 8, but we'll work with you. 

   Avoiding corn?  We got you covered!

   Vegetarian or Vegan? Awesome! We've got a whole plethora of options for you!

   Looking to cut out added or refined sugar? So many foods are naturally sweet. We'll help you find them.


   We are "Top 8+" because we'll work with you regardless of what foods you're looking to replace.

   Currently, we are not working with people who have diabetes.  Diabetes is not about simply cutting out sugar. Diabetes is much more about the proper balance of macro-nutrients to maintain the proper balance of blood sugar to insulin due to an improperly functioning pancreas.  We do hope to gain training in the field and eventually offer services to people with diabetes, but we are not there yet.
